Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Filling: 4 cups peeled, cored and thinly sliced Granny Smith or other tart apples 1 tbsp. lemon juice 3 tbsp. sugar
Topping: 1/3 cup all purpose flour 1 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup dark brown sugar 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
Directions
For Filling: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter the inside of a 9 inch square baking pan. Combine the apple slices, lemon juice and sugar in a large bowl. Toss gently to coat apples. Transfer the apples to the prepared pan.
For Topping: Combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl. Stir in the melted butter until well combined. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the filling. Bake crisp about 30 minutes until apples are tender. Serve warm.
Serves 4 to 6.
