Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1/2 cup wild rice 1/4 tsp. salt 1 1/2 cups water 2 cups milk 1/2 cup purple or golden raisins 2 tsp. maple syrup 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
Combine rice, salt and water in a small saucepan. Heat to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until water is evaporated and rice is tender, about 30 minutes. Cool. Transfer rice mixture to a medium saucepan. Add milk, raisins, syrup and vanilla. Heat to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until raisins are plumped and porridge is thickened, about 5 minutes. Serve immediately.
Serves 2 to 4.
