6 ounces chopped white chocolate 5 tbsp. butter, diced 2 large eggs 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 cup all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup toasted, chopped macadamia nuts 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9 inch square baking pan. Combine white chocolate and butter in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Melt and stir until smooth. Remove chocolate mixture from over water and let cool to room temperature.
Beat together eggs, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until thick and pale. Beat in white chocolate mixture. Sift together flour and baking powder into a medium bowl. Stir in salt. Beat flour mixture into the batter until combined. Stir in macadamias and chocolate chips. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake brownies about 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Transfer pan to a rack and cool completely. Cut brownies into 16 pieces and serve.
Makes about 16 brownies.
