Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
3 pound beef chuck or boneless round roast 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 cup chopped onion 1 cup ketchup 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 2 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. cider vinegar 2 tsp. salt
Directions
Heat oil in a large pot over medium high heat. Add roast and brown on all sides. Add onion and cook until golden. Stir together ketchup, Worcestershire, brown sugar, cider vinegar and salt in a small bowl. Pour mixture over roast. Reduce heat, cover and simmer roast about 3 hours until tender.
To Serve: Transfer roast to a platter and slice. Serve pan sauce on the side.
Serves 6 to 8.
