Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
four 1/2 pint baskets fresh blackberries 3/4 cup sugar 2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice 2 large eggs at room temperature 3/4 cup sugar 2 cups heavy or whipping cream 1 cup milk 1 tbsp. vanilla extract pinch salt
Directions
Combine blackberries, sugar and lemon juice in a food processor. Blend until berries are coarsely chopped. Transfer berry mixture to a bowl. Cover and let stand 2 to 6 hours at room temperature.
Beat eggs in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add sugar and beat 30 seconds. Add cream and beat until peaks just start to form. Add milk, vanilla and salt. Mix until just combined. Transfer mixture to a ice cream maker and process according to directions. Transfer ice cream to a large container and drizzle blackberry mixture over. Fold in slightly to swirl. Freeze ice cream 1 to 2 hours before serving.
Makes about 1 quart ice cream.
