Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 pound ground turkey 1/2 cup diced onion 1 Tbsp. minced garlic (optional) 3 Tbsp. chicken broth 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce 1/3 cup ketchup 1/4 cup tomato sauce 1 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce 1 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar 2 Tsp. dijon mustard 1 Tsp. lemon juice 4 Tsp. brown sugar pinch paprika 1/2 Tsp. salt 1/2 Tsp. pepper
Directions
Coat a skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Add turkey, onion, garlic and broth and cook, breaking up meat with a spoon, until turkey is no longer pink 6 to 8 minutes. Stir together applesauce, ketchup, tomato sauce, worcestershire, vinegar, dijon, lemon juice, brown sugar, paprika, salt and pepper. Stir into turkey and cook until thickened, 10 to 15 minutes. Serve on buns or rolls.
Serves 4.
