Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 1/2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped 1/4 cup butter, diced 1 cup sugar 2 large eggs 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1/8 tsp. salt 1/4 cup chopped, toasted hazelnuts 1/4 cup chopped, toasted pecans 1/4 cup chopped, toasted almonds 3 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Butter the inside of an 8 inch square baking pan. Combine unsweetened chocolate and butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring, until the mixture is smooth. Remove the pan from the heat and cool the chocolate mixture slightly. Combine sugar and eggs in a medium bowl. Beat about 5 minutes until ribbons form. Blend in the melted chocolate mixture. Stir in flour and salt. Fold in hazelnuts, pecans, almonds and semisweet chocolate. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake brownies about 30 to 35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs. Transfer the pan to a rack and cool brownies completely. Cut brownies into squares and serve.
Makes about 1 dozen brownies.
