Ingredients   (view qty in metric system instead)
6 1/2 cups cold water, divided
7 heaping tsp. ground coffee
shells from 6 to 8 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 to 1/2 cup brandy or whiskey

Directions
Combine 6 cups water and coffee in a pot. Place over the fire and bring to a boil. Add egg shells and salt and move pot to the edge of the fire. Simmer coffee 15 minutes. Remove pot from fire and stir in remaining 1/2 cup cold water. Let stand 2 to 3 minutes until coffee grounds have settled. Stir in desired amount of brandy or whiskey and serve hot.

Makes about 6 cups coffee.
