Tony Roma's Blue Ridge Smokies Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 cup ketchup 1 cup red wine vinegar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup unsulfured molasses 1 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 tsp. onion powder
Directions
Combine ketchup, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, liquid smoke, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder in a medium saucepan and whisk until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat and simmer sauce 30 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Makes about 1 1/2 cups sauce.
