Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1/2 cup butter, softened 1 cup plus 2 tbsp. sugar 1 large egg 1 tbsp. dark rum 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 cup all purpose flour 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda pinch salt 1 1/2 cups crushed chocolate covered toffee candy bars 1/2 cup chopped almonds
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat together butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, rum and vanilla. Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt into a medium bowl. Stir flour mixture, crushed toffee and almonds into butter mixture. Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake about 10 to 12 minutes until cookies are puffed and tops are slightly cracked. Cool cookies 1 minute on pan. Transfer cookies to a rack and cool completely.
Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
