Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 tbsp. corn oil 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper 3 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped 1 tbsp. plus 1 tsp. ground cumin 1 pound ground beef 1/2 cup canned tomato sauce 1/4 cup chopped pecans 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 12 taco shells shredded lettuce grated cheddar cheese chopped tomatoes prepared salsa
Directions
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat Add onion, bell pepper and garlic. Cook about 5 minutes until tender, stirring frequently. Add cumin and cook, stirring, 1 minute. Add beef and brown, breaking up clumps. Pour off fat from the skillet. Add tomato sauce and pecans to skillet. Cook until heated through, stirring occasionally. Stir in cilantro, salt and pepper. Spoon 1/4 cup beef mixture into each taco shell. Garnish with lettuce, cheddar, tomatoes and salsa.
Makes 12 tacos.
