Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
Relish: 1 cup seeded, chopped tomatoes 1/2 cup pitted, brine cured black olives 2 tbsp. olive oil 2 tsp. red wine vinegar 2 tbsp. minced red onion
Steak: 1 tsp. chili powder 1/2 tsp. dark brown sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 1/2 pounds sirloin steak 1 tbsp. olive oil
Directions
For Relish: Combine tomatoes, olives, oil and red wine vinegar in a food processor. Pulse until coarsely chopped. Transfer relish to a small bowl and stir in red onion.
For Steak: Stir together chili powder, brown sugar, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Rub the spice mixture all over the steak. Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Add steak to the skillet and cook about 3 minutes per side for medium rare. Transfer steak to a plate and cover loosely with foil. Let steak stand 5 minutes.
Slice steak against the grain and divide between plates. Spoon relish over steak and serve.
Serves 4.
