Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 pounds ground sirloin 1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped 1 medium clove garlic, minced 8 ounce can tomato sauce 1 cup tomato soup 1 cup water 3 tbsp. chili powder 1 tbsp. salt 1 tbsp. paprika 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. ground cumin 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1/3 cup masa flour stirred together with 1/2 cup water
Directions
Brown meat in a large saucepan. Add onion and garlic and cook until onion is tender, about 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce, soup, water, chili powder, salt, paprika, pepper, cumin and cayenne. Cover and simmer 60 minutes. Uncover and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in masa mixture and cook 5 to 10 minutes until thickened.
Makes about 2 quarts chili.
