Tennessee Barbecued Skillet Hashbrown Potatoes

Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 pound package frozen, thawed hashbrown potatoes 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/2 cup butter 3 cups shredded Colby Jack cheese 1 1/2 cups crumbled, crisply cooked, hickory smoked bacon 3/4 cup prepared sweet barbecue sauce 1/4 cup sliced green onions
Directions
Preheat broiler. Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add hashbrowns, season with salt and pepper, and cook 3 to 4 minutes per side until edges are browned. Transfer hashbrowns to a broiler pan and layer with Colby Jack cheese, bacon and barbecue sauce. Broil about 2 to 3 minutes until cheese is melted. Transfer hashbrowns to a serving plate, sprinkle with green onions and serve.
Serves 4.
