Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
12 medium carrots, peeled, sliced and boiled until crisp-tender 1/2 cup margarine, divided, chopped 1/4 cup all purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. celery salt 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 1/8 tsp. pepper 2cups milk 2 cups dry breadcrumbs 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped 2 cups grated swiss cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine 1/4 cup margarine, flour, salt, celery salt, mustard, pepper and milk in a medium saucepan. Heat to a boil, stirring. Cook and stir until thickened. Mix breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup margarine and onions in a large skillet. Cook until crumbs are browned. Layer 1/2 of carrots, 1/2 of swiss, 1/2 of sauce and 1/2 of breadcrumb mixture in a 2 quart casserole dish. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients. Bake 30 minutes until bubbly.
Serves 6 to 8.
