Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 tbsp. sesame seeds 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels 1 tsp. salt 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1 tsp. Chinese five spice powder 1/4 cup sugar
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spread the sesame seeds in a small baking pan. Bake the sesame seeds about 3 minutes until lightly toasted, stirring every 1 1/2 minutes. Meanwhile, combine the popcorn kernels, salt and oil in a large pot over medium heat. Cover the pot tightly. When the popcorn kernels start popping shake the pot frequently in a back and forth motion. As soon as the popping slows down, remove the pot from the heat and uncover. Sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds, five spice powder and sugar and toss gently. Pour the popcorn into a bowl and serve immediately.
Serves 4 to 6.
