Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 tbsp. vegetable oil 2 cups chopped fresh mushrooms 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped 1 large green bell pepper, stemmed, seeded and chopped 8 large cloves fresh garlic, peeled and chopped 1 1/2 tbsp. Creole seasoning 1 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes with juices 14.5 ounce can Cajun style stewed tomatoes 1 pound large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
Directions
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms, onion, green pepper and garlic. Cook about 5 minutes until onion is softened, stirring frequently. Add Creole seasoning and crushed pepper flakes. Cook 1 minute. Stir in crushed and stewed tomatoes with juices. Simmer about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thickened. Add shrimp and simmer about 5 minutes until cooked through. Serve immediately.
Serves 4.
