Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature 8 ounces mascarpone or ricotta cheese 3/4 cup powdered sugar 7 tbsp. marsala, divided 1/2 cup sour cream 1 pint fresh strawberries 3/4 cup boiling water 2 tbsp. sugar 2 1/2 tsp. instant espresso powder two 3.5 ounce packages ladyfingers 1 ounce grated semisweet or bittersweet chocolate
Directions
Combine cream cheese, mascarpone or ricotta, powdered sugar and 5 tbsp. marsala in a food processor. Blend until smooth. Combine water, sugar and espresso powder in a medium bowl. Stir until espresso powder is dissolved. Stir in remaining 2 tbsp. marsala. Dip ladyfingers into coffee mixture to moisten. Cover the bottom of an 8x8 inch glass baking dish with some of the ladyfingers. Spread 2/3 of the cheese mixture over the ladyfingers. Slice half of strawberries and lay over cheese. Arrange more ladyfingers over strawberries, covering completely. Spread remaining cheese mixture over. Sprinkle with grated chocolate. Cut remaining strawberries in half and arrange around edges of dish. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours until set. Cut into squares.
Serves 4 to 6.
