Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1/4 cup sugar 1 pound baby asparagus, trimmed 1 quart water, boiling 1/4 cup butter 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Directions
TO COOK: Heat heavy sauce pan. Add sugar. Stir just until melted. Add asparagus and boiling water. Cover pan. Boil hard for 5 minutes. Drain. Melt butter. Add asparagus. Stir just until coated and hot. Season to taste.
