1 1/4 pounds fresh mushrooms 2 quarts water 1/4 cup lemon juice 4 tbsp. margarine 3/4 cup diced yellow onion 1/2 cup burgundy wine 1 tbsp. beef bouillon granules 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 tsp. white pepper
Directions
Scrub, rinse and dry mushrooms. Combine water and lemon juice in a large covered saucepan. Heat to a boil. Melt butter in a medium saucepan. Add onions and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Whisk together wine, bouillon, garlic powder and white pepper in a small bowl until bouillon dissolves. Add wine mix to onions. Simmer over medium heat until alcohol is evaporated, about 10 minutes. Remove pan from heat. Add mushrooms to boiling lemon water. Return to a boil. Drain mushrooms thoroughly. Stir mushrooms into wine sauce until well coated.
Serves 2 to 4.
