Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1/3 cup dark brown sugar 3 tbsp. kosher salt 4 tbsp. chili powder 4 tbsp. pepper 1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin 1 tsp. ground coriander 1/2 tsp. ground cloves 4 large cloves garlic, peeled and crushed 4 rib eye steaks, about 12 to 16 ounces each 1/4 cup corn oil
Directions
Stir together brown sugar, salt, chili powder, pepper, cumin, coriander, cloves and garlic in a medium bowl. Rub each steak all over with 3 tbsp. of the spice mixture. Whisk oil into the remaining spice mix. Place steaks in a 13x9 inch glass baking dish. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
Prepare grill. Brush steaks with some of the spiced oil mixture. Place steaks on the grill and cook about 5 minutes per side for medium rare, basting frequently with the oil mixture. Let steaks stand 5 minutes before serving.
Serves 4.
