Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
8 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese 8 ounces shredded monterey jack cheese 1 medium onion, peeled and shredded 1/2 cup unsalted butter, diced 2 tsp. tabasco sauce
crackers apple slices crudites salami-wrapped breadsticks
Directions
Combine cheddar, monterey jack, onion, butter and tabasco in a large bowl. Cover and let stand 60 minutes at room temperature. Beat cheese mixture until fluffy, stopping occasionally to scrape down sides of bowl. Cover and refrigerate. Bring to room temperature before serving. Serve with crackers, apple slices, crudites or salami-wrapped breadsticks if desired.
Makes about 3 1/2 cups spread.
