Steaks:
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. ground allspice
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. mashed garlic
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
two 6 to 7 ounce filet mignon

Sauce:
1 1/4 cups water
1 1/2 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. tomato paste
2 large cloves garlic, thinly sliced

Directions
For Steaks:
Stir together chili powder, cumin, pepper, allspice, sugar, mashed garlic, salt and worcestershire in a small bowl. Rub spice mixture over top and bottom of steaks. Place steaks on a plate and loosely cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 1 hour and up to 24 hours. Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Transfer steaks to a baking pan and roast about 20 minutes for medium-rare. Transfer steaks to a plate and let stand 5 minutes.

For Sauce:
While steaks are roasting, combine water, worcestershire, tomato paste and garlic in a small saucepan. Heat to a simmer. Simmer about 20 minutes until liquid is reduced to about 1/3 cup and garlic is very tender. Pour mixture into pan used for roasting steaks and bring to a boil, scraping bottom of pan. Strain sauce into a small bowl.

Slice steaks and serve with sauce.

Serves 2.
