Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 tbsp. vegetable oil 3 pounds pork spareribs, cut into individual ribs 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tbsp. peeled, minced fresh ginger 3/4 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup rice vinegar 1/2 cup lite soy sauce 1 tsp. cornstarch 1 tbsp. cold water
Directions
Heat oil in a large pot. Working in batches, add ribs to pot and brown on all sides. Transfer ribs to a large bowl. Add garlic and ginger to pot and cook 30 seconds. Stir in brown sugar, vinegar and soy sauce. Return ribs to pot. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat until ribs are tender, turning occasionally, about 45 minutes. Stir together cornstarch and water in a small bowl until smooth. Add to sauce and simmer about 2 minutes until thickened.
Serves 4 to 6.
