Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
12 ounces fresh green beans, blanched and drained or two 10 ounce packages frozen, thawed and drained 2 strips bacon 1 tbsp. butter or margarine 1 small onion, peeled and thinly sliced 3 to 4 tbsp. water 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions
Trim ends from beans and cut into 2 inch pieces. Cook bacon until crisp in a large skillet. Drain bacon on paper towels and crumble. Pour off most of drippings from skillet. Add butter, beans, bacon, onion and water. Heat to a simmer. Cover and simmer 3 to 5 minutes until beans and onion are crisp-tender. Season with salt and pepper.
Serves 4.
