1/2 cup dark brown sugar 3/4 cup butter, divided 2 tbsp. evaporated milk 1/2 cup chopped pecans 2 cups light brown sugar 2 large eggs 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine the dark brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter and evaporated milk in a small saucepan. Cook, stirring, over low heat until butter is melted. Pour butter mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 8x8 inch square baking pan. Sprinkle the pecans evenly over the butter mixture. Cream together light brown sugar and remaining butter in a large bowl. Beat in eggs. Stir in flour, vanilla extract and salt until evenly moistened. Spread batter over pecans. Bake brownies 40 to 50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Transfer pan to a rack and cool 5 minutes. Invert pan onto a plate. Remove pan and let brownies cool 5 minutes before cutting into bars.
