Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
four 9 to 10 ounce beef chuck steaks 1/2 cup all purpose flour 2 tbsp. olive oil 4 cloves garlic 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 cup chopped onion 8 fresh mushrooms, sliced 1 cup chopped green bell pepper 16 ounce can stewed tomatoes 8 ounce can tomato sauce 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
Directions
Place flour in a large plate or pie pan. Dredge steaks in flour to coat, shaking off excess. Heat oil in a large skillet. Add beef and garlic. Brown beef about 2 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper. Reserve steaks. Add onion, mushroom and bell pepper to skillet and cook until softened, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes. Stir in stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce and Worcestershire. Bring to a boil. Return steaks to skillet. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until steaks are tender, about 60 minutes.
Serves 4.
