Shredded Wheat Chocolate Chip Monster Cookies

Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
3 3/4 cups bite size frosted shredded wheat cereal 2 cups milk chocolate chips, divided 1 cup butter, room temperature 1 cup sugar 1 cup brown sugar 2 large eggs 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease several large sheet pans. Combine shredded wheat cereal and 1/2 cup chocolate chips in a food processor. Blend until finely ground. Cream together butter and both sugars in a large bowl. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and blend until combined. Add the shredded wheat mixture and stir in with a wooden spoon. Stir in the remaining 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips. Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared pans, spacing about 1 inch apart. Bake cookies about 10 to 12 minutes until edges are lightly browned and centers are cracked. Transfer the cookies to a rack and cool completely. Store cookies at room temperature in an airtight container.
Makes about 4 to 5 dozen cookies.
