Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
3/4 pound fresh green beans, ends trimmed 2 strips bacon 1 tbsp. butter 1 small onion, peeled and thinly sliced 4 tbsp. water 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper
Directions
Cut beans into 2 inch pieces and set aside. Cook bacon in a larhe skillet over medium low heat until crisp and browned. Drain bacon on paper towels, then chop. Discard all but 1 tbsp. drippings from skillet. Add butter, green beans, bacon pieces, onion and water. Bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Reduce heat to medium low, cover and simmer 3 to 5 minutes until beans and onion are tender. Season with salt and pepper and serve hot.
Serves 4.
