Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 1/2 pounds ground hot Italian sausage 1 large onion, peeled and diced 4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced 2 tbsp. vegetable oil two 15 ounces cans red kidney beans, drained two 15 ounce cans tomato sauce 28 ounce can whole crushed tomatoes, drained 1 cup beer 2 tbsp. chili powder 2 tbsp. canned, diced jalapeno peppers shredded Cheddar cheese sour cream chopped green onions
Directions
Heat oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Add sausage, onion and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until sausage is browned, breaking up clumps. Drain fat from the pan. Stir in kidney beans, tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, beer, chili powder and jalapenos. Simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Ladle chili into bowls and garnish with dollops of sour cream, shredded Cheddar cheese and green onions. Serve immediately.
Serves 4 to 6.
