Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
4 pork chops, about 3/4 inch thick 1 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 tsp. minced garlic 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 4 tbsp. dry sherry 4 tbsp. soy sauce 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes 2 tsp. cornstarch 2 tbsp. water
Directions
Brown chops on both sides with 1 tbsp. oil in a skillet. Reserve chops and add garlic to skillet. Cook 1 minute. Stir together 2 tbsp. oil, sherry, soy sauce, sugar and pepper flakes. Return chops to skillet and pour sherry mixture over. Simmer until chops are cooked through, about 30 to 35 minutes. If sauce gets too thick during cooking stir in 1 to 2 tbsp. water. Remove chops onto a serving platter. Stir together cornstarch and water. Stir into sauce and bring to a boil. Cook 1 minute. Pour over chops.
Serves 4.
