Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
4 Salmon steaks, about 1 inch thick 1 tsp. salt 1/3 cup all-purpose flour 2 Tbs. butter or margarine
Mushroom sauce-
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms 2 Tbs. butter or margarine 4 Tbs. all-purpose flour 3/4 cup water 1/2 cup chicken bouillon cube 1 cup whipping cream 1/2 tsp. salt Dash of pepper Dash of paprika Dash of thyme
Directions
Start mushroom sauce, clean mushrooms well. Slice mushrooms or chop. Melt butter in sauce pan. Add mushrooms. Stir well. Saute over medium heat until most of liquid has evaporated. Sprinkle with flour. Stir to combine. Add water. Bring to a boil, stirring well. add crumbled bouillon cube, cream, salt, pepper, paprika and thyme. Cook stirring for about 5 minutes. Season to taste. Scrape salmon steaks with a dull knife. Sprinkle with salt. Let sit for a few minutes. Coat salmon steaks with flour. Shake off excess. Brown butter in skillet. Add salmon steaks. Reduce heat. Saute on both sides for 4-5 minutes. Transfer to hot plates. Pour sauce over or on the side of salmon.
