Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
10 tbsp. butter, softened 1 cup brown sugar 1 tbsp. dark rum 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 large egg 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line the inside of a 8 inch square baking pan with buttered foil. Combine the butter, sugar, rum, vanilla and egg in a medium bowl and stir until smooth. Stir together the flour and baking soda in a small bowl and fold into the batter. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake about 20 to 25 minutes until the top is golden. Transfer the pan to a rack and cool the brownies completely. Remove the blondies from the pan, using the foil as an aid, and cut into bars.
Makes about 1 dozen blondies.
