Roasted Root Beer Barbecued Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
8 cups water 3 pounds chicken drumsticks 3/4 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup salt 2 cups prepared barbecue sauce 1/3 cup root beer 1/8 tsp. ground ginger
Directions
Combine water, drumsticks, soy sauce and salt in a large bowl. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine barbecue sauce, root beer and ginger in a large saucepan. Heat to a simmer over medium-high heat. Simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain drumsticks and place on a large baking sheet. Roast 30 minutes. Brush drumsticks all over with half of barbecue sauce. Roast an additional 15 minutes until cooked through. Brush with remaining sauce and serve.
Serves 6 to 8.
