Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
12 ounce jar warm caramel ice cream topping 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour, divided 1/4 tsp. baking powder pinch salt 4 ounces chopped unsweetened chocolate 3/4 cup butter 2 cups sugar 3 large eggs 2 tsp. vanilla extract 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips 3/4 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease the inside of a 13x9 inch baking pan. Stir together caramel topping and 1/4 cup flour in a small bowl. Stir together remaining 1 cup flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl. Combine unsweetened chocolate and butter in a small saucepan. Melt over low heat and stir until smooth. Stir in the sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour mixture until well combined. Spread the batter in the prepared pan. Bake 25 minutes. Remove the brownies from the oven and immediately spread the caramel mixture evenly over the top. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the caramel. Bake brownies an additional 20 to 25 minutes until the topping is bubbly and golden brown. Transfer pan to a rack and cool brownies completely. Cut into bars.
Makes about 3 dozen brownies.
