Meatloaf; 3 slices bread, torn into small pieces 1 cup milk 1 pound ground beef or veal 1/2 pound lean ground pork 1 large egg yolk 1/4 cup minced onion 1 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 1/4 tsp. dried sage 1/4 tsp. celery salt 1/4 tsp. garlic salt 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce Cheese Filling: 1 egg white, slightly beaten 1 tbsp. water 2 slices bread, torn into small pieces 4 ounces crumbled bleu cheese or shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
For Meatloaf: Preheaty oven to 350 degrees. Stir together bread and milk in a large bowl. Mix in beef or veal, pork, yolk, onion, salt, pepper, sage, dry mustard, celery salt, garlic salt and worcestershire. Pat half of meat mixture into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Cover with cheese filling. Top with remaining meat mixture. Bake 90 minutes.
Cheese Filling: Combine egg white and water. Toss lightly with breadcrumbs and cheese.
Serves 6 to 8.
