Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 pound ground pork sausage 14 ounce can sauerkraut, drained 2 tsp. caraway seeds 2 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. spicy brown mustard 2 rye bagels, split in half 1/4 cup Thousand Island dressing 4 slices Swiss cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Form sausage into 4 patties. Cook patties in a large skillet until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes per side. Drain sausage on paper towels. Mix together sauerkraut, caraway seeds, sugar and mustard in a small saucepan and heat through. Spread cut sides of bagels with Thousand Island dressing. Spoon some of sauerkraut mixture over each bagel half. Top with a sausage patty and additional sauerkraut mixture. Top each with a cheese slice. Wrap in foil and bake 20 minutes until hot.
Serves 4.
