Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 pounds ground chicken 2/3 cup chopped onion 1/2 tsp. crumbled dried thyme 1 cup prepared barbecue sauce 6 slices Cheddar cheese 6 hamburger buns, split and toasted 6 slices tomato 6 lettuce leaves
Directions
Line a sheet pan with plastic wrap. Mix together ground chicken, onion and thyme in a large bowl until well blended. Form the chicken mixture into 6 balls. Flatten each ball to form a 1/2 inch thick patty. Place chicken patties on the prepared pan. Cover and refrigerate until ready to cook.
Prepare grill. Place burgers on an oiled grill rack and brush with some of the barbecue sauce. Cover and grill until cooked through, about 5 minutes per side, basting with barbecue sauce. Top each burger with a slice of Cheddar and cook an additional minute until cheese is melted. Transfer burgers to buns and top with tomato slices, lettuce leaves and any remaining barbecue sauce. Serve immediately.
Makes 6 cheeseburgers.
