Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1/2 cup water 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch 3 tbsp. soy sauce 2 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 pound round steak, sliced into thin strips 1 large green bell pepper, cored, seeded and cut into strips hot, steamed rice
Directions
Stir together water and cornstarch in a small bowl until smooth. Stir in soy sauce and brown sugar. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add steak and brown well on both sides. Push steak to one side of skillet. Pour cornstarch mixture into the other side of the skillet. Stir until thickened. Add green pepper strips and toss to combine. Incorporate steak strips. Cover and cook about 5 minutes until green pepper is crisp tender. Spoon pepper steak mixture over rice and serve.
Serves 4 to 6.
