Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 pound ground beef 1 small onion, peeled and chopped 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper 15 ounce can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed 14.5 ounce can whole stewed tomatoes with juices 8 ounce can tomato sauce 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
Place ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, cook, stirring frequently, until beef is browned. Drain beef. Add onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook about 5 minutes until tender, stirring frequently. Stir in kidney beans, tomatoes with juices, tomato sauce and chili powder. Heat chili to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle 3 tbsp. Cheddar on the bottom of each of 6 soup bowls. Spoon the chili over the cheese. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top of the chili and serve immediately.
Serves 6.
