Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup margarine 1/4 cup light corn syrup 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 tsp. butter flavoring 4 to 6 quarts freshly popped popcorn 1 1/2 cups peanuts
Directions
Combine brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt in a large microwave bowl. Microwave on High 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after each minute, until the mixture boils. Microwave an additional 2 minutes without stirring. Immediately stir in baking soda, vanilla and butter flavoring. Place the popped popcorn into a large paper bag and microwave 1 1/2 minutes on High. Pour the popcorn into a large bowl. Pour the brown sugar mixture over the popcorn and stir to coat. Add peanuts and stir again. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Makes about 4 to 6 quarts popcorn.
