Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 pound ground beef 1 1/2 cups chopped onion 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 1/2 cups milk 3/4 cup dry buttermilk baking mix 3 large eggs 2 medium tomatoes, cored and sliced 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 10 inch pie plate. Brown beef with onion in a large skillet, breaking up clumps of meat. Drain fat. Stir in salt and pepper. Spread beef mixture in prepared pie plate. Combine milk, baking mix and eggs in a medium bowl. Beat until smooth. Pour mixture over beef. Bake 25 minutes. Lay tomatoes over top of pie and sprinkle with Cheddar. Bake about 5 to 8 minutes until a knife comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Serves 6 to 8.
