Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1/3 cup peeled, finely chopped carrots 1/3 cup finely chopped celery 1 cup finely chopped green onions 2 cups water 1 medium white onion, peeled and chopped 1/2 cup butter 1 cup all purpose flour 4 cups milk 4 cups chicken broth 15 ounce jar Kraft Cheez Whiz 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper 1 tbsp. yellow mustard
Directions
Combine carrots, celery, green onions and water in a medium saucepan and heat to a boil. Boil 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, combine the white onion and butter in a large saucepan over medium high heat. Cood until onion is tender, stirring frequently. Stir in flour until combined. Add milk and chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add Cheez Whiz, salt, pepper, cayenne, mustard and the vegetables with their cooking water. Heat to a boil, stirring frequently. Serve immediately.
Serves 8.
