Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
18 ounce package yellow cake mix 1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut 1/2 cup butter, room temperature 4 small apples, cored, peeled and thinly sliced 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 cup sour cream 1 large egg
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish. Combine cake mix and coconut in a large bowl. Add butter and rub in with your fingers until crumbly. Press into bottom and 1 inch up sides of baking dish. Bake about 10 minutes until edges are golden brown. Place apples over crust. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Whisk together sour cream, eggs and remaining 2 tbsp. sugar in a small bowl. Pour over apples. Bake about 40 minutes until apples are tender and custard is set. Serve warm.
Serves 6 to 8.
