Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 1/2 pounds chuck or flank steak, cubed 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. paprika 1 large can pineapple chunks, drained, juice reserved 1 can beef broth 1/4 cup red wine vinegar, divided 1/2 cup chopped celery 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper 1 cup sliced onions 2 tomatoes, cored and cut into wedges 1 tbsp. soy sauce 3 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 cup water
Directions
Sprinkle beef with garlic powder and paprika and brown in a large skillet. Add reserved pineapple juice, broth and 2 tsp. vinegar. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until beef is tender. Add celery and bell pepper and cook 5 minutes. Add tomato wedges and pineapple chunks. Stir together soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, water and remaining vinegar in a small bowl until smooth. Stir into beef mixture and cook until thickened, stirring frequently. Serve over cooked rice.
Serves 4 to 6.
