Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
2 2/3 cups all purpose flour 1/3 cup sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1/3 cup butter, room temperature 3 large eggs 4 cups pitted, quartered plums 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 cup cold butter, diced
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9 inch round cake pan. Stir together 1 2/3 cup flour, sugar, baking powder, 1/3 cup butter and eggs with a wooden spoon until blended. Pat dough over bottom and up sides of pan with floured fingers. Place plums over. Stir together 1 cup flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add cold butter and rub into flour mix with your fingers until crumb consistency. Sprinkle evenly over plums. Bake 40 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely in pan. Run knife around edges of pan and invert cake onto a plate. Using a second plate turn plum side up. Cut into wedges and serve with ice cream if desired.
Serves 8 to 10.
