Ingredients   (view qty in metric system instead)
2 pounds ground beef
1 pound hot or mild bulk Italian sausage
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. dried basil leaves
2 tsp. salt
two 16 ounce cans whole stewed tomatoes
four 6 ounce cans tomato paste
2 cups prepared tomato sauce
four 12 ounce packages ricotta cheese
4 large eggs, beaten to blend
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 tbsp. dried parsley flakes
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
two 8 ounce packages lasagna noodles, cooked and cooled
24 ounces sliced mozzarella cheese
6 ounces sliced pepperoni
6 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
1 small red onion, peeled and sliced
1 medium green bell pepper, cored, seeded and sliced
1 cup sliced black olives

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease two 9x13 inch baking pans. Brown ground beef in a large skillet. Drain fat from skillet. Stir in sausage, garlic powder, basil, salt, tomatoes, tomato paste and tomato sauce. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile, stir together the ricotta cheese, eggs, pepper, parsley flakes and Parmesan in a medium bowl until well blended.

To Assemble:
Line the bottom of the prepared pans with half of the cooked noodles. Spoon half of the ricotta mixture, half of the sauce and half of the mozzarella over noodles. Repeat layering once more. Sprinkle the pepperoni, mushrooms, red onion, green pepper and black olives over the top of the lasagnas. Bake about 40 minutes until lasagnas are heated through. Let lasagnas stand 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Makes 2 large lasagnas.
