Ingredients   (view qty in metric system instead)
Pie:
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell
5 to 6 medium granny smith or honey crisp apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. water

Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup butter

Directions
For Pie:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Stir together apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt and water in a large bowl until well combined. Spoon into pie shell.

For Topping:
Stir together flour and sugar in a medium bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over pie. Place pie in a brown paper grocery bag. Place bag on a sheet pan. Bake 60 minutes, making sure bag doesn't touch heating element.

Makes 1 pie.
