Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 1/2 tbsp. butter, room temperature 4 thick slices country style bread 1 tbsp. vegetable oil 4 pork sausage patties, about 6 ounces each 6 tbsp. grated Swiss cheese 4 large eggs
Directions
Butter 1 side of each bread slice. Place oil in a large skillet and heat over medium high heat. Add sausage patties to the skillet and cook about 2 minutes per side until patties are golden brown and cooked through. Transfer sausage patties to paper towels to drain. Place 2 cooked sausage patties each on the unbuttered sides of 2 slices of the bread. Sprinkle the Swiss cheese over the sausage. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes per side over medium heat until whites and yolks are softly set. Place 2 eggs over each sandwich. Top with the remaining 2 bread slices, buttered side up. Wipe out the skillet with a paper towel. Place te sandwiches in the skillet and cook about 2 minutes per side over medium heat until bread is golden and toasted. Serve sandwiches immediately.
Serves 2.
