Ingredients (view qty in metric system instead)
1 1/2 tsp. whole dried allspice berries 1/2 cinnamon stick, broken into pieces 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg 1 1/4 cups pineapple juice 1 1/4 cups fresh squeezed grapefruit juice 1 1/4 cups fresh squeezed orange juice 1/3 cup dark rum 1/3 cup cognac one and a half 750 ml. bottles of Shiraz or Syrah wine orange slices whole strawberries ice
Directions
Combine allspice, cinnamon stick and nutmeg in a towel. Fold towel over and coarsely crush spices with a rolling pin or mallet. Combine grapefruit juice, pineapple juice and orange juice in a medium saucepan. Add crushed spices and heat to a simmer. Simmer 20 minutes. Remove pan from heat and strain. Stir in rum, cognac and wine. Cool to room temperature. Transfer mixture to a glass pitcher and refrigerate until well chilled.
To Serve: Fill Tom Collins glasses with ice. Pour punch over and garnish with orange slices and strawberries.
Serves about 25.
